What we collect

Your email address, a password (stored only as a hash — we can't read it), your display name and optional profile details (username, bio, photo), and an optional phone number if you turn on text alerts. Using the app also creates activity records: games you post, hours you pick, seats you're placed in.

What it's for

Running the product, nothing else. Email carries drop results, seat confirmations, and digests. The phone number, if you add one, carries time-sensitive seat offers by text. Your activity feeds the scheduler that places games. We don't sell or share your data with anyone, and there's no advertising on the site.

Usage measurement

Two tools count how the site gets used — pages viewed, which steps people finish, where they get stuck. Plausible keeps aggregate traffic numbers and never identifies anyone. PostHog records the same kind of events, and when you're logged in they carry your account, so we can tell one person's visit from another's. Our own server sends PostHog a short list of milestones too — signed up, posted a game, marked interest, got a seat — so we can see where the path breaks. Both are analytics only: no ad networks, no data brokers, nothing sold or shared.

PostHog also records about one visit in ten as a replay: a playback of the pages, clicks, and scrolling of that visit, which is how we find the screens that confuse people. What you type into a form is masked, so passwords and message text never appear in a recording, and recordings are deleted after 30 days. Browser errors are collected the same way, so crashes reach us without anyone filing a report.

What other people see

Your profile page (display name, photo, bio, play history) is public — that's the point of a profile. On game and session rosters, only the people in the game — the host and your fellow players — see your full display name. Everyone else, including logged-out visitors, sees your first name and last initial ("Sarah K."), with no link to your profile — so a public page never pairs your full name with a specific place and time. Your email, phone number, and exact picked hours are never shown to anyone.

Cookies

One cookie for staying logged in, and one from PostHog that tells repeat visits apart. No advertising cookies.

Deleting your data

Ask and it's gone: email support@tableland.games and we'll delete your account and its data. That's the whole policy.
